admin answers:
The Indian passport holders of your family need a Transit visa.
In case you will travel Emirates Airlines this can be arranged by the airlines itself. But if flying through another Airlines, you have to contact directly the Marhaba Services, the details of which are as follows:
Marhaba Services
Tel: 2164629 (Visa Section)
Tel: 2062709 (Main Office in the Airport)
E-mail: marhaba@emirates.com
You can travel without prior arrangement of transit visa. As soon as you arrive at the airport you have to approach any of the Marhaba staff and you will be guided to the Marhaba Visa counter for any arrangement.
Have a safe trip!
Edit Vinod 2008: I do not know where you are getting your information from, but fact is, the Embassy only issue visas for diplomatic or service visits. Point blanc. Transit visas will be issued through Emirate Airlines (flying into Dubai) or the Marhaba Service dircetly.

Hi,
Yes you and your Family (wife, kids, if sponsored by you in Kuwait) get a visa on Arrival at any Entry port in United Arab Emirates, if you are an Engineer and your visa profession says that you are Engineer too then my answer is 100% yes.
I have a an Engineer visa too and I travel around in GCC and offcourse get a visa on arrival except Saudi Arabia.
(No Matter what so ever your Nationality is, all it depends is your profession on visa)

Emirates Airlines long stopovers?
I am travelling with Emirates Airlines from Islamabad to Glasgow via Dubai. I have 22 hours before i catch Glasgow bound plane. Will Emirates give me a hotel to stay/sleep (like Etihad Airline does) or do i have to stay in lounge the whole time? If they do offer a hotel stay, is that complementary? will i be able to go out of the airport/hotel to look around downtown?
Thanks in advance ![]()
@Shaaniya
Thanks for the advise :p but I ‘m looking for someone who has experienced this situation. Plus its more fun asking questions on this platform :p
Regards
admin answers:
As a special courtesy to passengers, in certain cases where an itinerary calls for a long stopover in Dubai, Emirates will cover accommodation, meals and ground transportation costs.
This service is offered to:
Economy Class passengers
If the booking class for the entire outbound or inbound leg of their journey is N, M, E, W, or Y.
If the connection time until the first available flight is more than 8 hours and less than 24 hours.
Business and First Class passengers
If the booking class for the entire outbound or inbound leg of their journey is D, C, J, Z, A, or F.
If the connection time until the first available flight is more than 6 hours and less than 24 hours.
Long stopover expenses may also be covered in other cases, such as Skywards redemption bookings, and other rules may apply.
Please check with your local Emirates office at the time of booking or prior to commencement of travel. Long stopover expense cover must be pre-booked, and Emirates is only able to accept bookings made one day before the day of departure at the latest.

Transit in Dubai-for indian passport holders?
Hello! We (me & my wife) are going to India via Dubai. We have a transit time of around 16 hrs. and i feel that’s a pretty long time to stay at the airport. We shall be landing in Dubai at around 5 am and leaving Dubai at 10 pm both in emirates flights..
I would like to know if we can get a transit visa to go into the city. I checked with the emirates office and came to understand that they will be processing our transit visa only if we are booking a hotel room through them, which i think is not worth as we will not be staying in the hotel anyway and will have to shell out at least USD 215 for not using the service.. So please let me know how we can get the transit visa…your suggestion will be appreciated…
Dear Sas…,
Thank you for your response. But i think u got my qns wrong.. we dont intend to take the hotel service as it will be an unnecessary expense. We rather will be going for a city tour may be…what i actually wanted to know is that whether we can get a transit visa at the immigration without taking any hotel accommodation..The emirates airline ppl are trying to package my visa with the hotel which i wud like to avoid..
Hopw u got my query..pls advice…
admin answers:
U should insist on the airline providing with hotel acomodation as the halt in dubai is more then 8 hrs . I think thats the rule.
Check with the IATA rules.
That case they will give u accomodation and visa to get u out of the hotel into the city . From there u can go for site seeing
