considering going to dubai next year, any recommendations for hotels?
thinking about next years hols, Dubai sounds appealing, but looking for any recommendations for hotels, near where the shops are etc, good value for money, but still want somewhere with a bit of luxury, that won’t break the bank!!!

Difficult as hotels here are expensive. Package costs tend to be cheaper have a look in sunday papers 4 offers and on travel mood, expedia etc. Jumeirah is the main beach area.. The Westin is new and so may be doing deals. Jumeirah beach hotel is lovely but pricey, try Mina Seyahi or Royal Meridien. This is the best area 2 be, good 4 shopping (mall of Emirates) lots good restaurants and bars. Marina is also good area 4 eating etc. Don’t be tricked by offers which say Dubai but are really in another emirate (RAK, Fujeirah etc) Also beware of non beach hotels as they are probably in a less nice area.. And as traffic here is terrible it could take you over an hour+ to get to the beach. Basically stick with hotel in Jumeirah and get the best deal you can and you can’t go 2 wrong. Hope this helps.

I have been living in DUBAI for the past 31 years. Its the most amazing place to be at. Its a very safe place for children also
