Flight To Dubai From Jfk

Flight To Dubai From Jfk

Ruth asks…

Where do flight attendants/cabin crew live?

just a couple of days ago i was on a 12 hour flight from jfk (new york) to dxb (dubai) and i have a couple questions about the flight attendants/cabin crew because i was really curious. where do they live? do they only fly to new york and dubai or do they fly to other places? what are the chances of having the same flight attendants when going to jfk from dxb? thanks!

admin answers:

Flight attendants/cabin crew are scheduled by seniority at most if not all airlines. Those with the most seniority get to select what routes they want to fly and when.

As for where they live, flight attendants/cabin crew members do have homes or apartments even though they may be away from them for extended periods of time. When they travel for work and are away from home, airlines have contracts with different hotels and they can stay there.

As for having the same flight attendant for both flight segments, it will depend on the flight attendant’s schedule. You may get some of the same flight attendants but most likely will get different people.

Connecting international flight at JFK?

I am travelling from MSP to JFK with Northwest airlines, and then I got to get the connecting (emirates) flight to Dubai which departs 1 hr 55 mts later. Northwest does offer to check the baggage in at MSP thru the final destination. My concern here is the time I am left with to move from terminal 3 to terminal 4.. I would need to get the boarding pass from the emirates counter.. then go for the security check.. if anyone is familiar with the JFK airport, its terminals, and the airline counters, pls let me know if I can make it to the emirates checkin counter in 30 mts time from terminal 3.. I am going to be in JFK after 9 PM on a Saturday night.. (yes, checking in before 2 hrs is out of queston here..) rescheduling the flight is a distant possibility now. do I get a preference (in long lines!) if I am travelling with an infant and child? Thanks!

I did check with Emirates cust service.. they dont have online checkin in the US yet!!

admin answers:

I would say that you should have enough time but JFK can be congested during the evening hours. However what you go going for your is that the International Terminal is right next to the Delta Terminal or Terminal 3 where you will be arriving at. If you are really concerned, just see if you can get a seat closer to the front of the plane so you will be one of the first passengers to get off once the plane arrives at the gate.

Flying Saudi Air into Riyadh Airport from JFK?

Want to know if the security checks are more invasive in KSA than elsewhere, or can I breathe easy and relax when i enter the airport, and just get on the my connecting flight to Dubai.

admin answers:

If you get on your connecting flight without leaving the transit area, you don’t have to go through Saudi Immigration/customs. If for any reason you have to go trough Saudi Immigration and customs, just don’t carry anything which you aren’t suppose to. Simple.

Americans can breath much more easy and relax entering any gulf country than vs.
