How to get in to Dubai T3 airport for receving passenger?

My wife and kid are coming to dubai airport T3. Is there any possible way to get into airport to receive them any services available like that instead of waiting outside for them? Please advice.

admin answers:

You can’t get inside, but you can use the meet and greet service of Marhaba. A Marhaba employee will wait for your family, gets them through immigration (same counter as crews), wait with them for the luggage and will escort them outside.

For more details, please visit the link giving below:

Buying chocolates and perfume from Dubai Airport duty free shops?

Hi, I have a 6 hour transit time in Dubai Airport. I am planning to buy chocolates and perfumes from the Dubai Airport duty free shops. Is it a good decision and is it cost effective compared to buying them in the US. Thanks.

admin answers:

I will try to answer you based on my experience with Dubai, NY, Dallas, Philly, Michigan, LA, etc.

Buy the perfumes at Dubai Duty Free Shops. They are cheaper there compared to US.

For chocolates, have it purchased in the US. The price is almost the same but the choices are more in the US than in the Duty Free Shop.

I would recommend that you purchase the Dates Filled Chocolate at the Dubai Duty Free. They are unique to GCC only and you wont find them in the US.

My american friends in Buffalo, New York love it.

Lisa asks…

Is Marhaba lounge in Dubai Int. Airport free?

I’m flying to Manila, Economy class, Emirates, EK334
Now i want to ask if marhaba lounge is free of charge? and if the services inside is free?
And i also want to ask there was like a restaurant lounge in dubai airport, it was free of charge it was exclusively for EK travellers, where is it in the gate place, whats the name?

admin answers:

Dear Friend

Marhaba Lounge in Dubai Int’l Airport is not a free service section.

There is a Restaurant free for Emirates travelers, if the travel transit time exceeds more than 4 hours (i believe so-to be clarified the duration) and you may just show the ticket at the cashier counter of the restaurant, then they will tell you the detail.

I forget the name of the hotel but it is nearby the transit gates. Once I had my lunch there at Emirates Airlines’ free coupon.

Best Regards
Thx

Flight To Dubai

Sharon asks…

How to take transit flight in Dubai airport? How baggage are handled?

I’m traveling from Colombo(CMB) to Istanbul(IST) and I have a transit at Dubai airport.

This is my first time flying on a transit flight, and my first time to Dubai airport, I would like to know how to take the transit flight? I’m now aware of the process involved. Can someone explain what I should do after getting down from the flight.

admin answers:

It’s sort of like any other connecting flight. But in this case ou will stay in the international transit zone of the airport. Meaning you will find your way over to your connecting gate, and your bags will be automatically transferred by the airline. You will not deal with any customs or immmigration in Dubai, since you are not technically entering the county. You MAY have to go through another security check, but that just depends where your connecting gate it.

Now there may be a few variables. Like for example if you connecting to two different airlines, its possible you may have to get your boarding pass for your second flight, but there are clearly marked areas where you will do this. If you are with the same airline, there will be no need to as you will get both boarding passes in Colombo.

Chris asks…

can I take connecting flight in Dubai with Israeli passport?

I want to fly from Jordan to Delhi via Dubai or Bahrain or Abu Dhabi, I have Israeli passport. Is it ok to do this just for transit/connection flight?

admin answers:

To my knowledge, citizens of Israel are denied entry into the United Arab Emirates under any circumstance, even if only for transit purposes. Bahrain, according to the second link below, does not automatically deny Israelis the right to enter the country as other Middle Eastern states do, although they may limit or restrict the entry of Israelis in certain circumstances. I’d personally double-check to see whether you would have issues entering Bahrain for transit, or see whether you can go through another country where Israelis are not denied entry or otherwise restricted.

Sandra asks…

Michael asks…

Is metro an efficient and cheap way to explore dubai?

Im willing to use metro alot as a transport since it is cheaper. Can i make videos of most attractions from metro inside? for example, if al karama is located next to my hotel lets suppose if i want to visit palm jumerah beach i cant use this station since it is located on green line then I will go for Sayeeda station which is green line metro station. Is my UNDERSTANDING correct? I never used a metro in my life apart from at kaula lumpur airport but not city itself. but im going to try this option in dubai.

also, do these metro stations have maps for locations accessible from both red and green metros?
for me it is too much work write down locatio names accessible by each metro line and im going to fly out from my countryby early morning, tommorrow

admin answers:

It sounds you are mixing up between the Dubai metro and Palm Monorail. You can’t reach the Palm using Dubai metro as it runs along SZR not Jumeirah beach. The Palm Monorail is a completely separate thing and it is not part of Dubai metro . You have to take a taxi or bus to get on it , and it will take you thru the Palm to Atlantis & Aquaventure.
There is no station in Dubai called “Sayeeda” , so I have no idea what you mean by that even in the other question. Again it sounds you are mixed up because Al Karama station is on the red line … Sorry but don’t think ahead that much you will just confuse yourself with unfamiliar names, take it one step at a time.

admin answers:

2003 Dubai was voted the safest holiday destination in the world and it currently hosts more and more visitors and new residents year on year.

So whether you’re considering holidaying in this amazing city or moving to Dubai more permanently, you’ll find the Emirate offers both visitors and residents a wide and exciting range of attractions and entertainment opportunities.

In fact Dubai is a city of beautiful contrasts and breathtaking surprises.

It is surrounded by mysterious deserts, sand dunes and the stunning Hajar Mountains, it is divided by the Creek which is actually an inlet from the gulf splitting the commercial centre of Dubai in two, and within the city you’ll find amazing beach resorts, incredibly high tech buildings all side by side with old traditional houses and mosques…giving you a taster of just what variety you can expect from your time in Dubai.

If you’re a sport lover then you’ll find Dubai plays host to many first class events every year from the Desert Classic golf tournament to Rugby 7s to the Dubai World Cup. And if you prefer to participate in sporting activity there are plenty of opportunities for you to choose from.

From horse riding in the desert to jet skiing on the Creek, from swimming in the pools of any one of a myriad of first class beach resorts to joining in with expat football and rugby clubs for example. And then of course there are Dubai’s golf courses and clubs! Even if you’re not a golfer and have no intention of playing a round when in Dubai you have to visit a club. Firstly there are the amazing clubhouses and then of course the beautiful and immaculately tended greens – in the desert? Very impressive stuff!

If you prefer to get closer to nature than just admiring grass (!), you can visit the wildlife sanctuary near Garhoud Bridge where you’ll likely find thousands of migrating birds including Greater Flamingos, or you could consider walking in Creekside Park with its lovely landscaped gardens, or walking along the promenade on the Corniche towards Maktoum Bridge. Alternatively you could visit Dubai Zoo in Jumeirah where you’ll find many indigenous Arabian species, including the rare Arabian Wolf, which is sadly no longer found in the wild.

And when you want to sit down and relax there are a number of well tended lush public parks and gardens around Dubai where you can enjoy a stroll, a picnic or a play area.

Or if you want to venture a little further a field, the desert which provides the backdrop for the city also provides many fantastic opportunities for entertainment. From four wheel drive safaris to camel rides to romantic picnics in the desert under the stars

If you prefer not to travel so far you could consider hiring an abra in Dubai – this is a water taxi and it can afford you access to the Creek where dhows sail on their trading voyages to serve the coastal emirates. From your abra – or if you prefer, from a jet ski – you can sail the Creek, experience the excitement of the activity, watch waterside life, see the Creekside buildings and take in the amazing contrasts of the traditional water life and the amazing modern buildings in high tech ‘new’ Dubai. And if you hire your water transport from near Garhoud Bridge you can watch the beautiful desert sun sets near the Dubai Creek Golf and Yachting Club.

For those of you interested in Dubai’s trading history you can meander through the city’s souks or take pleasure in the annual Dubai Shopping Festival. This is an internationally recognised event, hugely popular with the locals and the visitors to Dubai. You’ll likely benefit from an incredible plethora of beautiful bargains and be blown away by the unbelievably low prices.

An entire area of Dubai City is given over to become the Global Village for the Shopping Festival. Stalls and stands are set up dedicated to different countries and here you’ll find handicrafts, fabrics, clothes, food and drink, pottery and jewellery from around the world.

To learn more about Dubai’s historical past there are many ancient sites and areas you can visit and Dubai Museum which is housed in Al Fahidi Fort is hugely popular as a starting point. The Museum is highly innovative and has been imaginatively arranged to depict Dubai’s past in as interactive a way as possible to bring history to life and to keep the interest and attention of even the youngest visitor.

If you want to see old Dubai then visit the Bastakiya district, here narrow lanes give way to the traditional courtyard houses and their windtowers. These are ancient forms of air conditioning if you like! They work by filtering air down and through the houses, and they look amazing as well!

Personally, i just luv the hilton hotel.

Laura asks…

Saeeyda metro station does exit? Please clarify?

to fari and tin m, and other users:

http://www.dtcm-dubaimap.com/applet/map.html

I used this website for locating places in dubai. Every place is given on it. you can see Saeeyda station . Just select catagory from directory. click on hotels and then click on citymax hotel, you can see a clear map. please use scroll bar on your left

admin answers:

City max hotel is a bit far from metro station, but if u chose walk you will take 20 minutes, I guess you are talking about Rashidya metro station.
Is metro good choice for traveling? Yes it is, quick, easy and peaceful. Working hours there is bit traffic but mostly its fine. I will recommend you ramada hotel or any other near to metro station rather than citymax.
If you are planning to spend more days here better to take a furnished apartment for few days, it will be cheaper and you can find very near to metro. Or you can stay near to mall of emirates so there you can find all things alltogether.

Dubai International Airport?

Do you know anywhere in OMDB/DXB ( Dubai International Airport ) which is possible to catch films from planes taking off or landing ?
I suggested some from map but I want to know really where to go.

Thanks.

admin answers:

You can choose some places outside the airport to take so really wonderful pics..but i believe that if you go into the airport, and take a permission (they give it really quickly, less than 1 day) they will let you take photos from much better places inside the airport…
Good Luck..=)
