You are able to take weapons onto the aircraft providing it is in the hold. You might need to show some kind of permit and even speak to airport police.

Donna asks…
Is there over the air tv broadcasting in Dubai ?
In the US there is OTA over the air HD digital broadcasting where you get HD channels for free. Is it the same for Dubai and if not digital then UHF/VHF ? I searched the internet but had no luck.
admin answers:
Yes , the UAE was supposed to switch all terrestrial TV to digital in 2010 but I don’t know what happened and why it got delayed. But Dubai (DMI.ae) channels have been available in DVB-T (COFDM) for years , since 10 years I guess, in addition to analogue. The difference between here and US is that the DVB-T tuner does not come built in the TVs. So people instead of spending money on a decoder that gets only 4 digital channels they prefer to get a satellite or cable TV decoder which gets 500 channels or more.
There are hundreds of private TV channels in UAE that mainly broadcasts to digital satellite & cable , but not on terrestrial, which is basically for the state owned Arabic channels.
The following channels are on VHF/UHF (chs 2~69 ) in PAL analogue , the actual channel number varies between emirates:
Abu Dhabi TV 1
Dubai TV
Sama Dubai TV
Ajman TV
Dubai Sports 1
Abu Dhabi Emirates Channel
Sharjah TV
Sharjah 2 TV
