MY YOUNGEST CHILD HOLDING BRITISH PASSPORT AND OTHERS ARE INDIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS

admin answers:

The Indian passport holders of your family need a Transit visa.

In case you will travel Emirates Airlines this can be arranged by the airlines itself. But if flying through another Airlines, you have to contact directly the Marhaba Services, the details of which are as follows:

Marhaba Services
Tel: 2164629 (Visa Section)
Tel: 2062709 (Main Office in the Airport)
E-mail: marhaba@emirates.com

You can travel without prior arrangement of transit visa. As soon as you arrive at the airport you have to approach any of the Marhaba staff and you will be guided to the Marhaba Visa counter for any arrangement.

Have a safe trip!

Edit Vinod 2008: I do not know where you are getting your information from, but fact is, the Embassy only issue visas for diplomatic or service visits. Point blanc. Transit visas will be issued through Emirate Airlines (flying into Dubai) or the Marhaba Service dircetly.

Hi,
I am an engineer residing in Kuwait and planning to go for short vacation of 4 days to Dubai along with my family. I have already booked my tickets Through Jazeera Airways.
Please advise can I get on arrival visa in Dubai airport. Also please note that I have not made any hotel bookings as i will be staying in my Friends house.

regards,

Y.Vimalanathan.
please note that i am indian citizen working in kuwait on renewable 2years visa contract in kuwait, with family status.

admin answers:

Hi,

Yes you and your Family (wife, kids, if sponsored by you in Kuwait) get a visa on Arrival at any Entry port in United Arab Emirates, if you are an Engineer and your visa profession says that you are Engineer too then my answer is 100% yes.

I have a an Engineer visa too and I travel around in GCC and offcourse get a visa on arrival except Saudi Arabia.

(No Matter what so ever your Nationality is, all it depends is your profession on visa)

Emirates Airlines long stopovers?

I am travelling with Emirates Airlines from Islamabad to Glasgow via Dubai. I have 22 hours before i catch Glasgow bound plane. Will Emirates give me a hotel to stay/sleep (like Etihad Airline does) or do i have to stay in lounge the whole time? If they do offer a hotel stay, is that complementary? will i be able to go out of the airport/hotel to look around downtown?

Thanks in advance :)
@Shaaniya
Thanks for the advise :p but I ‘m looking for someone who has experienced this situation. Plus its more fun asking questions on this platform :p
Regards

admin answers:

As a special courtesy to passengers, in certain cases where an itinerary calls for a long stopover in Dubai, Emirates will cover accommodation, meals and ground transportation costs.

This service is offered to:

Economy Class passengers
If the booking class for the entire outbound or inbound leg of their journey is N, M, E, W, or Y.
If the connection time until the first available flight is more than 8 hours and less than 24 hours.
Business and First Class passengers
If the booking class for the entire outbound or inbound leg of their journey is D, C, J, Z, A, or F.
If the connection time until the first available flight is more than 6 hours and less than 24 hours.
Long stopover expenses may also be covered in other cases, such as Skywards redemption bookings, and other rules may apply.

Please check with your local Emirates office at the time of booking or prior to commencement of travel. Long stopover expense cover must be pre-booked, and Emirates is only able to accept bookings made one day before the day of departure at the latest.

Transit in Dubai-for indian passport holders?

Hello! We (me & my wife) are going to India via Dubai. We have a transit time of around 16 hrs. and i feel that’s a pretty long time to stay at the airport. We shall be landing in Dubai at around 5 am and leaving Dubai at 10 pm both in emirates flights..
I would like to know if we can get a transit visa to go into the city. I checked with the emirates office and came to understand that they will be processing our transit visa only if we are booking a hotel room through them, which i think is not worth as we will not be staying in the hotel anyway and will have to shell out at least USD 215 for not using the service.. So please let me know how we can get the transit visa…your suggestion will be appreciated…
Dear Sas…,
Thank you for your response. But i think u got my qns wrong.. we dont intend to take the hotel service as it will be an unnecessary expense. We rather will be going for a city tour may be…what i actually wanted to know is that whether we can get a transit visa at the immigration without taking any hotel accommodation..The emirates airline ppl are trying to package my visa with the hotel which i wud like to avoid..
Hopw u got my query..pls advice…

admin answers:

U should insist on the airline providing with hotel acomodation as the halt in dubai is more then 8 hrs . I think thats the rule.
Check with the IATA rules.
That case they will give u accomodation and visa to get u out of the hotel into the city . From there u can go for site seeing

How to get in to Dubai T3 airport for receving passenger?

My wife and kid are coming to dubai airport T3. Is there any possible way to get into airport to receive them any services available like that instead of waiting outside for them? Please advice.

admin answers:

You can’t get inside, but you can use the meet and greet service of Marhaba. A Marhaba employee will wait for your family, gets them through immigration (same counter as crews), wait with them for the luggage and will escort them outside.

For more details, please visit the link giving below:

Buying chocolates and perfume from Dubai Airport duty free shops?

Hi, I have a 6 hour transit time in Dubai Airport. I am planning to buy chocolates and perfumes from the Dubai Airport duty free shops. Is it a good decision and is it cost effective compared to buying them in the US. Thanks.

admin answers:

I will try to answer you based on my experience with Dubai, NY, Dallas, Philly, Michigan, LA, etc.

Buy the perfumes at Dubai Duty Free Shops. They are cheaper there compared to US.

For chocolates, have it purchased in the US. The price is almost the same but the choices are more in the US than in the Duty Free Shop.

I would recommend that you purchase the Dates Filled Chocolate at the Dubai Duty Free. They are unique to GCC only and you wont find them in the US.

My american friends in Buffalo, New York love it.

Is Marhaba lounge in Dubai Int. Airport free?

I’m flying to Manila, Economy class, Emirates, EK334
Now i want to ask if marhaba lounge is free of charge? and if the services inside is free?
And i also want to ask there was like a restaurant lounge in dubai airport, it was free of charge it was exclusively for EK travellers, where is it in the gate place, whats the name?

admin answers:

Dear Friend

Marhaba Lounge in Dubai Int’l Airport is not a free service section.

There is a Restaurant free for Emirates travelers, if the travel transit time exceeds more than 4 hours (i believe so-to be clarified the duration) and you may just show the ticket at the cashier counter of the restaurant, then they will tell you the detail.

I forget the name of the hotel but it is nearby the transit gates. Once I had my lunch there at Emirates Airlines’ free coupon.

Best Regards
Thx

Hotel In Dubai Airport

Donna asks…

What is going to happen to Dubai International Airport?

What is its future???
With the New Dubai Maktoum Airport which will be ten times bigger opening will it be needed anymore??? after all FlyDubai and Emirates are both going to move all their flights to the new airport in the next 5 years so who will fly to Dubai Airport then?
Will they turn the airport into hotels and real estate? or will it continue to have planes at it?
Dubai Maktoum may end up a white elephant like Montreal Mirabel, designed and envisioned to be the worlds largest airport but with no airlines wanting to move and end up becoming just for a few cargo flights. Maybe it would have been better to have just added new runways to DXB instead

admin answers:

Does anybody know why they scaled down the plans at Maktoum Airport from 6 runways to 5 runways?

You have to apply for a 96 hrs transit visa. If you will travel Emirates Airlines the transit visa can be arranged by the airline itself. But if you are flying through another Airlines, you have to contact directly the Marhaba Services, the details of which are as follows:

Marhaba Services

Steven asks…

can anyone tell how much ad dirhams would it cost from sharjah international airport to bur dubai?

as me and my cousins are cuming over to dubai .. we would also want to knoe that whether ther are hotels which r in the range for 600 dhs .. and

admin answers:

You will be billed a surcharge for using the taxi from the airport (20AED) and for traveling between Sharjah and Dubai (20AED). That said, it will probably be another 60AED for the actual ride into Bur Dubai.

Many good hotels in Bur Dubai, but my favorite is JW Marriot in Deira. Go to ‘hotels.com’ and you can find some great deals. Try to stick with only five star hotels.

Cheers!

Michael asks…

If you are flying from Mumbai to the US, are you getting stuck in Dubai because of the volcano eruption?

Because of the recent volcano eruption in Iceland, I have heard that many people flying from Mumbai to the US with a connection in Dubai are getting stuck in Dubai airport.

Has anyone else flown recently that has experienced this problem? How long were you stuck at Dubai? Did Emirates work with you? Did they book a hotel for you?

Any information you can give me would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

admin answers:

Yes there has been some cases where flights have to wait at dubai airport
but i would suggest you to call airport authorities of both countries and plane company also
